Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2025
Join our team at the iconic 2025 Edinburgh Marathon Festival and experience the city’s greatest landmarks while bringing us closer to a cure!
Whether your aim is to return to running and smash an old PB, or take a challenging step-up to a new distance, there’s something for everyone! Choose a distance from 5km all the way to a full marathon and take in the beautiful routes through the heart of Edinburgh. Spread across the whole weekend with the half marathon and full marathon taking place on Sunday 25th May.
Whichever race you decide to join, know that your miles can help us beat brain tumours faster.

Fundraising target: £100
The EMF 5K takes place on the Saturday of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival weekend and is run in the stunning surroundings of Holyrood Park. Starting and finishing near Dynamic Earth, this route offers striking panoramic views of the city and Edinburgh Castle.

The 10K falls on the Saturday of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival weekend and is run in the stunning surroundings of Holyrood Park. Starting and finishing near Dynamic Earth, this route offers striking panoramic views of the city and Edinburgh Castle.

Fundraising target: £350
Taking place on Sunday 25th May 2025, the PB potential on this fabulously flat and fast route is high! If you are planning the EMF Half as your first half-marathon, you will be pleasantly surprised to discover that the course starts on a downhill, then flattens out all the way to the finish line. Starting at Potterrow in Edinburgh, this route hits many iconic venues of Edinburgh before making its way to Musselburgh, where you will experience the roar of the crowds on the finish straight. Wearing your medal, and finisher’s t-shirt, you can soak up the festival atmosphere at the finish area surrounded by your friends and family.

Taking place on Sunday 25th May 2025 and voted the fastest marathon in the UK by Runner’s World. Enjoy a fantastic all-encompassing route which takes in some of Edinburgh’s most iconic landmarks as well as offering picturesque views along the East Lothian coastline.

The EMF Relay is a chance for a team of four to join forces and complete the Edinburgh Marathon! With each relay leg posing a different challenge, make sure you pick and order your team wisely; which lucky runner will get The Glory Leg?

5km: £10 reg fee with a £100 fundraising target
10km: £15 reg fee with a £200 fundraising target
Half Marathon: £20 reg fee with £300 fundraising target
Marathon: £30 reg fee with £500 fundraising target
Hairy Haggis Relay (team of 4): £40 reg fee with a £600 fundraising target
