Actress Amy Nuttall, has been shortlisted for a Third Sector Award for the amazing work she’s done in support of The Brain Tumour Charity.
Best known for her appearances in Mr Bates vs The Post Office, Emmerdale and international hit series, Downton Abbey, Amy became one of our cherished celebrity supporters in January 2024.

What’s less known is Amy’s talent as a singer and after tragically losing her beloved mum, Elaine, to a glioblastoma brain tumour in October 2023, Amy went on to release the fundraising single Thank You Mother, on Mother’s Day 2024. This brought with it unique opportunities to further raise awareness and Amy’s profile as our celebrity supporter.

To become a part of this wonderful community, The Brain Tumour Charity, fills me with much pride and I hope very much that we can bring some much-needed change and awareness.”

Amy sang Thank You Mother as a VIP guest at the prestigious Smiley Charity Film Awards in Leicester Square and she has returned to social media specifically to amplify The Charity’s work.

She also played a key part in our call for a UK-wide National Brain Tumour Strategy during Brain Tumour Awareness Month (BTAM) in March and took part, alongside her dad and nephew, in our flagship fundraising event, The Twilight Walk in London.

She joined more than 1,000 supporters taking part in London’s Twilight Walk, our biggest annual fundraising event. Media coverage of Amy’s continued 2024 support saw record-breaking mentions and audience reach for us across our social channels compared to previous years, and a separate campaign for donations via her single raised vital funds.
Amy has been transformational in raising awareness and amplifying our work over the last year and we are honoured to have her continued support for the work we do to drive change for everyone affected.

The Third Sector Awards take place on 20 September and a full list of all the amazing charities in a wide range of categories can be found here.
