Mount Toubkal 2025

Trek to Mount Toubkal and go further for people affected by a brain tumour

Join The Brain Tumour Charity team in this tough but incredibly rewarding challenge as you trek to the tallest peak of northern Africa – Jebel Toubkal, standing at a whopping 4,167m!

You’ll take in the unforgettable scenery of the High Atlas Mountains with the splendour and colour of Marrakech. Although not technically climbing, the weather and terrain make this challenge extremely tough and a good level of fitness is essential.

This trek is challenging and life-changing – we can’t wait to see you there!

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: International departure from London

Once you’re all packed, it’s off to the airport to finally meet the rest of the team. Touching down in Morocco, you’ll be met and experience the buzzing vibrancy of Marrakech. You’ll transfer to the hotel for your first team dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 2: Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains

After breakfast and a final briefing, you leave the city and the scenery changes quickly as your journey heads into the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. At 2,000m sits the village of Imlil, the challenge starting point. Here you begin trekking! The route follows the river towards Sidi Chamarouch, Lunch will be taken with the Berbers, before heading towards home for the night: the Neltner Refuge at 3,200m.

Day 3: Neltner Refuge to Mount Toubkal

This morning sees an early start as you head towards your destination, stopping along the way to take in the views. The Toubkal summit is tough, especially across the scree, but with the buoyant team spirit – and several pit stops & packed lunch – you’ll reach the top of North Africa’s highest peak. Taking time to reflect on your achievement, you then descend back to the Refuge for a hearty dinner and nights rest.

Day 4: Mount Toubkal to Marrakech

Your limbs may be feeling weary, but it’s an easy descent back down to Sidi Chamarouch (2,310m) where you will stop for some refreshments. From here it’s a two-hour hike to Aremd, before one last push to Imlil. Here you’ll bid farewell to your muleteers before heading back to Marrakech, where the rest of the day is free to explore this wonderful city.

Day 5: Tour of Marrakech

The day starts with a guided tour of Marrakech, taking in the 70m high Koutoubia Minaret and the 16th century Saadian Tombs before ending in the bustling Djemma El-Fna square. Lunch is in the medina, after which there will be time to explore the subtropical botanical gardens of Jardin Majorelle. Celebrate the trip and all your achievements over a final celebratory meal together.

Day 6: Arrive home

Today is bitter sweet as you wave goodbye to Marrakech and head home to the UK. Saying goodbye to new-found friends and trekking partners will be hard, so be sure to exchange details on the flight home.
