It doesn’t matter whether you row alone or as part of a team, indoors or out on open water. We have a range of distances to choose from and our supporters have set world records when taking part in Row for It!
Ann Atkins has organised five Row for It! challenges at Touchwood shopping centre in Sollihul, including rowing herself. She started rowing to fundraise for the Charity in support of her daughter, Iona, who was diagnosed at the age of five, and is now one of the world’s top indoor rowers!
Your fundraising can make a real difference for everyone affected by a brain tumour. If you are inspired to plan a rowing challenge, alone or as part of a team, let us know and we can support you, providing the materials you need and celebrating your achievements!
How to plan a Row for It! challenge
- Register. Simply email us at fundraising@thebraintumourcharity.org with your details and when you plan to do your Row for It! challenge. You’ll receive our fundraising pack and you’ll also be introduced to your local contact in our community fundraising team, who will be on hand to support you.
- Raise £100 to bring us closer to a cure. We’re asking everyone who signs up to raise a minimum of £100. By rowing as far as you can, you’ll be helping us to make a difference to everyone affected by a brain tumour. Find out more about the impact your money makes.
- Find a rowing machine near you. You should be able to find a rowing machine for your Row For It! challenge at the majority of gyms across the country and many schools and clubs too. Remember to ask about the availability of the rowing machine you want to use well in advance of your chosen date. Of course, you’re welcome to tackle Row For It! on the open water too.
- Share your challenge with us. Help us spread the word about by using #rowforit when you’re talking about your challenge on social media. You can also share your photos with us via Facebook or Twitter – we can’t wait to start posting and retweeting them!
