Deliciously Ella’s story
Deliciously Ella is a plant-based food and wellness platform sharing simple tools for a healthier life. The company began in 2012 as a simple recipe website run by Ella, but has grown hugely since then to include a range of cookbooks, a plant-based recipe app, a restaurant in Central London and a range of delicious food products.
Ella and her husband Matt (CEO of Deliciously Ella) have been long-time supporters of The Brain Tumour Charity. This has included contributing some exclusive recipes to our Information Packs – including this recipe.
Matt is the son of Baroness Tessa Jowell, who sadly died in 2018 after being diagnosed with a glioblastoma. Baroness Jowell galvanised the political community in the House of Lords as she tirelessly campaigned for the needs of those affected by brain tumours.
In 2020, the Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission was established in her honour. We work closely with the Mission to them deliver thier transformative national programme portfolio to tackle brain tumours
“I love keeping a batch of these apricot and coconut bites in the kitchen, as they’re the easiest and most delicious snack. Feel free to adapt the recipe to include the ingredients you have – sunflower seeds would also work perfectly.
“We’re really pleased to be supporting all the brilliant work that The Brain Tumour Charity does. Our family has recently been affected by a brain tumour and we’ve seen first-hand how important the support, research and awareness they offer is.”
