Our long-standing High Profile Supporter Olympic diver Tom Daley, has signed up to take on the challenge for us alongside other members of Team GB.
The organisers of mass major sporting events, including the London Marathon, have come together to create a virtual event to raise money for a host of UK charities.
Tune into his Instagram channel on 10am on Sunday as part of the ‘26 Olympian Challenge’.
Tom has been a vital supporter of The Brain Tumour Charity since losing his Dad, Rob, to a brain tumour in 2011, before he was able to see Tom go on to his medal win at the 2012 London Olympics.
The aim of The 2.6 challenge is for people to find an activity that works for them personally that is based around the numbers 2.6 or 26. This could be walking 2.6k, juggling 2.6 balls, 26 press-ups or anything else that you think can raise money.
Take on your own challenge
Sign up for The 2.6 Challenge that started on Sunday, 26 April – the day we’d usually be cheering on runners at the Virgin Money London Marathon – and help us raise vital funds so we can continue to be there for our community affected by brain tumours.
The challenge can be any activity you like using the numbers 2.6 or 26 – whether that’s balancing on one leg for 2.6 minutes, dancing for 26 minutes, baking 26 muffins or holding an online workout with 26 friends, being part of this UK-wide challenge is simple and you’ll have a lot of fun.

Tom has said of his support for us: “It’s a charity very close to my heart. I lost my dad to a brain tumour and ever since, I wanted to do everything I can to help raise awareness and money and hopefully find a cure.
“In just one month alone over 800 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumour. I’m honoured to be part of this charity that’s really close to my heart. Together, we can save lives.”
You don’t have to be a marathon runner or mega fit to take part and it’s up to you what you do. You can do it wherever in your home suits your challenge best. And there are no rules – apart from keeping safe and following Government guidelines.
Or, if you prefer, you can make a donation instead of taking part in a challenge.
So whatever you choose to do for The 2.6 Challenge, we’d like to thank you for being part of our team.
Brain tumours won’t stop during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak – and neither will we!
